Microsoft в своєму офіційному блозі презентувала додаток, що об’єднав в собі інструменти Edge DevTools і який доступний в Windows Store. Програма дозволяє діагностувати JavaScript-помилки без необхідності установки Windows 10 Insider Preview.
Проведення налагодження необхідно на будь-яких продуктах, починаючи від браузерів і закінчуючи прогресивними веб-додатками. Це стало причиною для додавання можливості підключення інструментів до варіантів движка EdgeHTML для Bing, MSN, Xbox і інших сервісів. Налагодження можна проводити навіть на віддалених пристроях, підключених до однієї мережі або через USB-кабель. Для цього потрібно зайти в налаштування і активувати «Device Portal».
Також в додаток впроваджений Edge DevTools Protocol для узгодження з протоколом Chrome DevTools. Він додає підтримку інструментів VS, VS Code і Sonarwhal.
Microsoft має намір покращувати додаток, грунтуючись на відгуках. Щоб зв’язатися з розробниками, потрібно натиснути на смайлик в правому верхньому куті вікна.
Тим часом розробники інших браузерів теж не сидять на місці. 25 квітня 2018 року компанія Opera Software випустила мобільний браузер, заточений на управління однією рукою.
